In this webinar, Jen Boyd, MSN, RN, and Eli McNeish, RN, AMB-BC, from University of Iowa Healthcare shared lessons from their team’s work to build stronger community partnerships and support safer, more effective triage for patients experiencing mental health crises.
The conversation offered a practical look at how mental health crisis concerns are managed in their call center and how they collaborate across internal clinical and external community teams. Jen and Eli discussed training provided to non-clinical support team members and triage nurses to help their teams feel more prepared and comfortable in their handling of callers in crisis. They also reviewed support resources provided to call takers post-call within University of Iowa Healthcare.
